Chelsea Thrash Everton
Chelsea Thrash Everton:Chelsea's push for Europe gained momentum on Monday as they crushed Everton 6-0. Young midfielder Cole Palmer stole the show with a phenomenal performance, scoring four goals including a first-half hat-trick.
The 21-year-old Englishman showcased his versatility, netting with his left foot, a header, and his right foot before converting a penalty in the second half. Nicolas Jackson and substitute Alfie Gilchrist added to the scoreline as Chelsea maintained their grip on ninth place.
This dominant win puts Chelsea in a strong position to secure a European spot, with games in hand compared to their rivals. Manager Mauricio Pochettino praised Palmer's impact, highlighting his talent and adaptation since joining the club.
For Everton, however, the night was a nightmare. The heavy defeat leaves them precariously close to the relegation zone, just two points clear of the drop with an ongoing points deduction appeal.
Everton's Woeful Start Paves the Way for Chelsea Rout
Despite a promising early chance for Beto, who missed from close range, Everton's night quickly turned sour. The Toffees' display was far from what manager Sean Dyche envisioned.
"A horrid night," Dyche admitted. "We were miles away from where we want to be." Simple defensive errors, including missed tackles, proved costly. This indiscipline served as a stark reminder of Everton's precarious position in the league.
The tide turned definitively in the 13th minute. Palmer danced past Jarrad Branthwaite with a nutmeg, exchanged a quick pass with Jackson, and unleashed a shot that beat the diving Jordan Pickford. This goal marked the beginning of Chelsea's dominance.

The misery continued for Everton. Just five minutes after the opener, Chelsea capitalized on shaky defending. Jackson's shot was parried by Pickford, but the rebound fell perfectly for Palmer to head home with ease.
Palmer wasn't done yet. A horrendous clearance from Everton gifted him the ball 30 yards out. Despite being right-footed, Palmer displayed incredible skill, chipping the ball beautifully over a stranded Pickford for a stunning third goal in only 29 minutes.
The first half ended 4-0 thanks to Nicolas Jackson. He controlled a cross from Marc Cucurella, turned sharply, and fired a low shot past Pickford.
Even the penalty award in the second half had a comedic touch. Noni Madueke was fouled in the box, but Jackson and another Chelsea player, Conor Gallagher, got into a friendly tussle over who would take
the penalty. Gallagher intervened, allowing Palmer to convert from the spot and complete his impressive four-goal performance.

Despite the comical penalty incident, Gallagher eventually conceded the spot-kick to Palmer, who coolly converted in the 64th minute. However, manager Pochettino was far from amused. He apologized for the "bad image" and firmly stated, "I made it clear that I won't accept this again."
Palmer's four goals propelled him to the top of the Premier League scoring charts alongside Manchester City's Erling Haaland, both with 20 goals. This feat also brought his overall tally to 23 goals, making him the first Chelsea player to reach the 20-goal mark since Eden Hazard in the 2018-19 season.
The match ended with a bang. Substitute Alfie Gilchrist, on for just a minute, slammed home Chelsea's sixth goal after a Pickford save fell kindly to him. This marked his first goal for the club.
